First applications received for Rolex Sydney Hobart 2010

Within minutes of the release of the Rolex Sydney Hobart 2010 Notice of Race, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia had received its first five applications for entry, and within 24 hours this figure had climbed to twelve.

The closest divisional battle of the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week was within IRC Passage 2 where Harvey Milne's Archambault 31 Aroona from Sydney and the Matthew Owen skippered BH36 Local Hero, racing with a majority ACT crew, fought tooth and nail for seven days over nine races to finish a point apart.

On Wednesday evening 16 June, over 240 CYCA members and their guests were entertained with photos and videos that accompanied stories delivered by Alex and Peter in a laconic style that was sometimes at odds with the places they had been and the feats they had achieved. "That was where Berrimilla had 85 knots..." was just one of the notable quotes from the evening.
